That Ring

There were not many rings like that,
actually there were no rings the same.
And no other ring had the same meaning,
80 years old with a lot of history.
Passed onto me the youngest of them all,
it will always be too big for me.
But I will never let go of the little and last thing,
to remind me of my grandma who I will never see again.
Knowing one day
I will let go,
and when I do
I will let go.
And when I do she will be gone,
but that will be the day I’m gone and reunited
with the family that left me first,
knowing that my granddaughter will have
it to think about me.
When she comes to visit me someday at
the grave.
