The Australian Bush

When the days get longer, not shorter
And the birds start to sing with more pride
As the river runs clearer and brighter
And dragonflies flutter not hide.
Ancient gums stretch their arms to the sky
Giving homes to the birds at great height
Whilst down on the ground where the lyrebirds sing
The fairy wrens dance through the light.
