The Backwaters of Kerala

The aroma of the dazzling, crystal water reaches me,
a salty breeze fills the air with waves crashing on as I watch in glee.
The waves chuckle with laughter as they toss the boats around,
and the coconut palm trees dance side to side, making the atmosphere serene with minimal sound.

I sit there and dream, admiring the creation of our magnificent earth.
As the afternoon turns to the evening, I peer in to the sky to watch the stunning sunset,
the sky changes like a chameleon from pink to yellow to orange.
The waves change to ripples and a cool breeze comes in, setting a peaceful atmosphere.
I watch this all in pleasure and delight; after all this is my refuge and comfort.
