The Card of Joy

I live in a house as old as the hills
And in that house is an antique cupboard.
On that cupboard is a card
That when read makes me feel as good as gold.

It just sits there, but then again don’t all cards?
One day I came home from school feeling down in the dumps
At school I got into a fight
And forgot my homework.

All I could think was thoughts as black as coal
I laid down and listened to music
But not even music could save this day.
I got up and looked at the cupboard

I saw the card just sitting there all by itself.
I picked it up and read it
After reading it I feel as bright as the sun
Nothing could stop me from having some fun.

On my way home from school
I found twenty dollars on the floor
And bought all my family presents.
Now you know what positive thinking can do.
