The Ceramic Whale

Once upon a vast blue ocean, lived the most beautiful creature, it’s tail a giant grey hammer, it’s song a mournful lullaby, it’s story a tale to be told.
It rises…and then…oh how it jumps! Spurting a gale of warm water from its head. I never knew how one lives with lungs full of water.
It plays and sings in the glistening water until nightfall, when it swims out of sight, but you can still hear it’s song, it’s beats and moans filling the night sky.
It talks to me about tales of whales who have saved their families from predators. Loyal and brave like a knight or a soldier, with a tail that could take out 50 men in one hit.
Strong as an ox, smart as a dog, but trapped in the form of a soulless statue.
It makes me feel a sense of joy like never before.
Oh how I wish I could join them!
