The Changing Forest

The forest changes in the seasons
But remains a magical place
In autumn a crimson blanket covers the forest floor
With animals getting ready for hibernation
The leaves twist, twirl and turn onto the ground
As the gentle breeze blows through this creation
Winter arrives with its icy breath
Snowflakes fall gracefully onto the exposed trees
The wind howls like a wolf
Most animals underground so they don’t freeze
Spring comes along with blooming flowers
As a choir of joyful birds and crickets sing
Lush trees reaching for the clouds
A kaleidoscope of vibrant colours growing
The heat declares summer is coming
But the strong trees sense danger is near
The animals escape as fast as they can
Everyone feels fear because fire is here
The forest changes in the seasons
But it will always remain a magical place
