The Climbing Tree

The chatter of the lively young,
echoed through the branches
While the senior students rest calmly
in the thick limbs of the tree
The sweet scent of unknown faraway flowers
The bitter taste of cold air.
Every chirp of a bird
You find an ant, ready to bite.
The rich amber coloured flowers
Dotted the thin twigs.
Thick warm rays of the sun sift through
As multi-shaded leaves soak it in
The tree breathes in the rhythm
Of the unheard heartbeat of the wind
The air and sunlight create a mixture of serenity
Children play, they sing
Ants crawl on slender branches
As the spirited life of the tree combines
To form the one and only,
Climbing Tree.
