Watching kids pass by each day
As he ages and wears away
He gazes wisely on fields of green
And sniffs the metallic memories of what he's seen
Weeds and flowers creep up thin legs
To rid this rust is all he begs
His nails stick out and bend so
What lays beyond his back, you'll never know
His comrades join him in his silent stance
Barely noticed, with just a glance
And day by day they get replaced
Ignoring all that they have faced
Now and then they pass away
Weather and age stealing all that they say
