The flood

It was okay until it wasn't 

and the river overflowed

and it never, ever, slowed.

Nibbling, eating at the banks.

Ripping, wrecking, killing, crashing.

Slipping, slicing, antagonizing.

Flood flips giant buildings.

Heroes help plug the flood.

Flood fills plains, eating

animals while others flee.

Fish flail in water, swimming, failing,

flushed away in the flood's current.

Flood slows, goes to river

and rushes to the sea. 

Helps humans majorly. Flood solved.

Back to normal, at least that's how it felt.
