The Forest

Long tall trees stare down at me as I trudge through the mud.
The forest welcomes me with luscious shades of green.
A pulchritudinous place, animals wild and free.
Flowers blooming, sublime sights to see, strange yet serene.
The birds sing beautifully, their song as graceful as a ballerina's dance. Each note gliding calmly through the air.
Jaguars pouncing, snakes slithering.
They all march through the forest, courageous and fair.
As they howl deafeningly,
A frightful sound to all.
They charge ebulliently to their prey.
Deers trot away when they call.
Insects live here too.
Leisurely crawling around.
So small I can barely see them.
Never making a sound.
As the night falls, I watch eagerly.
The stars raise their proud heads high.
As I trudge through the mud.
Leaving to the sound of a deer's cry.
