The sun’s rays beam down on my leaves.

As the day goes by, animals shelter from the heat.

Night comes, all is silent again.

The morning smell fills the air,

Crows nesting,

Worms wriggling,

Birds tweeting.

Heat builds up rapidly,

Darting swirling flames lick at my leaves.

Animals scramble past me,

Running and hiding in their burrows.

Red, orange and yellow fire heading my way,

Grey, gloomy smoke blankets me.

Birds flee out of the grey mess,

Closer, closer and closer the fire gets.

Twigs burn and leaves crackle.

Branches drop to the ground turning into ash.

Red everywhere, what do I do?

Helicopters fly past me dropping water.

Saving my life from being swallowed by the fire!
