The Future of Forests

Underneath, above, below
Deep green forests continue to grow
Under the stars on a summer night,
The future of forests seems so bright
With flowers crawling on their bark
Birds perch on the branches, a magpie, a lark.
Forests still thrive, with star after star,
A mass of green carpet stretches far.
The trees fall down and the land's cleared
The forest collapses, just as animals have feared
Their homes are cut down and get driven away
They don't get fixed, day after day.
When their homes get put up and back to full strength
Maybe all of our hearts will grow in length.
Trees fade away and appear back as brick
So we need to act more, and we need to act quick!
