The Great Barrier Reef

Small subtle swaying waves rise and fall,
an underwater city, a home to many.
Distant rumbling of boats, litter and rubbish floats.
The glimmering sunbeam offers warmth, coral sway like tiny trees.
Small subtle swaying waves rise and fall.
The reef is home inhabited by many, but how long until it is no longer a home?
Once thriving, now withering and dying.
A perfect home, now a shrivelling cell.
