The gum tree in my backyard was crying last night as if it was suffering from torture.

In truth, it was still screaming its infinite sorrow.

Rapidly, frightful lightning struck my mind and out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of the tree tearing its way out of the ground.

Its shriek was piercing my ears as I stampeded to dad to tell him about the tree.

He said he heard it and said that he should chop it up.

But I didn't agree. I said, "No. There is a better way! I know we can replant it." And we did that. Afterwards, no shriek was heard!
