The Hot Wet Season Morning

I wake up,
blazing heat blowing against my face.
The yucky taste of salty sweat in my mouth.
People grumbling with damp knotty hair and sticky skin.
Plitter, platter, plitter, platter, rain enters the grounds of Earth.
Clear water drips down the corrugated roof, creating floods,
Heat waves all over the city, causing chaos.
Loud thumps from lighted lines that make trees burn.
Dark grey clouds so heavy they're down low in the sky.
