The Koel Bird

In nature, there lived a koel bird

Who absolutely hated to be stirred

She would sleep and sleep like no other

And did nothing in her slumber

But if you wake her up beware

You would get a terrible scare

She would fly around and squawk so loud

I will destroy anyone who wakes me she vowed

So when a caterpillar crawled on her back

She awoke from her slumber and gave it a big whack

It fell past the branches and landed in a bush

And is now known as caterpillar smoosh

The Koel bird, already awake, reluctantly stretched its wings

Flew away, and encountered many unusual things

A yellow beast with spots all over

Then she laughed, oh what a joker

Then she realized, this beast looked hungry

And before she knew it, she was in the great beast's tummy
