The Last Bite

As small as a capybara
Lives in cliffs like Everest
They are certainly my interest
Oh, how a happy life they live
Foxes and cats were loose
Fire devastating the bushes nearby
Hope was the forests lie
To the rights of animals being free
They are nocturnal Aussies
At dusk hungry & searching
Owls and sugar gliders perching
Fine eyes you have there in the night
A fox was seen by nocturnal eyes
Mr. Wallaby is already leaping
The fox is ravenous and creeping
One bite finishes the battle
Red eyes, bloody teeth
Between the wallaby and the fox is dread
It’s a guarantee the wallabies dead
And finally, the fox takes... a... final... bite.
