Leaping through the forest

Gliding from tree to tree

There goes a lone sugar glider

Showing off to you and me

Gliding gracefully like a falling feather

The sugar glider forages for food

He’s powerful no matter the weather

Then BOOM, CRASH, he meets his doom

Mechanical monsters roam the land

Obstructive, destroying all in sight

Homes, families they’ll all be ruins

They are a rival you cannot fight

He sprints, he escapes to safety

Away from his beloved home

Will the morning ever come?

He really does not know

 Feeble, weak, will he survive?

But then he sees someone block out the light

In their gentleness, their kindness is shown

And they bring the sugar glider into a new home
