Down in the forest the magpie sees a potential threat somewhere near

It attacks a fox and fleas in fright to where he doesn't have her in his sight

The black parts of the bird absorb the smiling sun

I watch as the magpie flies back to her smooth fragile eggs

she hears an immaculate sound of the cracking of eggs

As the gum tree watches over the family, he watches them grow

The branches dance in the hot summer breeze at the wonderful sight

During the day the magpie hunts, as the tree babysits the chicks

In times of storm the tree shelters the majestic magpies from the rain

When the babies leave the nest, the mother sheds a tear and a leaf falls off the tree
