The Mysterious Bear

The Mysterious Bear lies limp on my shoulder,
As I guide him to his new home.
Away from the piercing screams of joy,
Excitement, frustration and despair.
The Mysterious Bear has seen many things,
Tales from half-life as a carcass.
Longing despairingly for love and stuffing.
So soft, warm and safe.
And one day, it was all his,
All his wishes were granted.
His glassy eyes held within,
A flame, burning eternal.
The Mysterious Bear now lies untouched,
His black-as-night fur old and matted.
He begs for one chance,
And one chance is all,
To be held and loved, once more.
