The Necklace

The slim silver chain swings freely in the air
The necklace bounces along my neck tangling around my hair
The small glittering jewels shimmer in the bright sunlight
The thin wires curl together creating a forest in the night
The bouncing sounds of my necklace hitting me echoes around the room
But it broke to it’s doom
The necklace was made near the Trevi Fountain in Rome and we brought it all the way home
The pretty wires snapped when I was fingering the words
My necklace was no more
My poem is going to win this competition, it’s so much better than the opposition.
