The Necklace

Her young delphinium eyes were alive
Lighting up the world with curiosity
She loved and cherished life
After an age of time
Her body peaceful in the billowing sheets
The silver metal
Against her pale skin
Now rests
Against mine
Silver branches
Curling in on each other
Still tree
Held with chain as cold as ice
The words carved in stone
Love, Hope, Friendship
A beautiful silhouette
Against dawn sky
The bird spreads her wings,
Graceful as she glides towards the clouds
