The Night Before Spring

The sweet aroma of nectar fills my nose
Its wrinkly texture brushes against my skin
A soft, buttery colour seeks my eyes
Petals as soft as a newborn's chubby cheek
Unique and special in its own way
Delicately swaying in the evening breeze
But then, the night enters and the flowers fall asleep
And as the sun welcomes the new spring days
Flowers awake
