The Panther

Nature gifts life to the deciduous forest
A pitch black night, no sound can be heard
Except for the sorrow cries of a bird
An elegant creature stalks the night
Can anyone put up a fight
Her crystal eyes shine the night sky
Even so she might show blight
Her graceful stride makes no sound, prey she has found
A deer lost in the hour of darkness, fate she has found
The cat prepares to end the deer here
But a sound in the distance she can hear
Leaves rustling in the distance
They must be persistent
A muzzle appears from the shadows
Will our friend be sent to the gallows
It appears our friend is dead
What could of been of her instead
She might choose to forgive
But her kind will not outlive
