The rainforest breathed silently,
Waiting for dawn to come,
For a new day to begin.

As the sun peered out tentatively from the distant ruby horizon,
The trees sighed,
As their tender leaves rustled, shimmering with glorious dew.

Minutes passed, as beaming rays of glowing sunlight shone,
Filling the rainforest with bliss
And the sound of a waterfall,
A cascade of pure, clear water.

The rainforest was filled with the fragrant aroma of flowers,
The soothing melodies of birds
And the gentle sound of a light breeze passing through the trees.

As the day passed, the rainforest buzzed with busy animals:
It was another day,
Same as every day before.

As the silver moon came out, the sun retreated under the horizon,
And all the noises of the day faded,
Until all that was left was an empty rainforest,
Breathing silently, waiting for dawn to come.
