The sand beneath my feet

I feel the sand beneath my feet
Lying in the sun during the hot summer heat
The sea spray, free as can be
Swimming in the ocean makes me feel so free
The kangaroos spring from field to field
The joeys in their pouches, hidden and concealed
Kookaburra laugh from the treetops above
Sound so sweet, like a call of love
To the bubbling brooks where the water wades
On the edge of the bank where you feel the grass blades
The koalas roar at the crack of dawn
The dingos walk briskly on the morning lawn
Playing footy in the backyard
Even at night when it’s cold and hard
Geckos and skinks climbing up the wall
Listen close and you will hear their call
But will all this be gone one day
Will we watch the years go past and the sky go grey
We have to make a change before it's too late
Start afresh, a clean slate
