The Silver Cross

When I bow down to pray
I feel the cold silver chain hanging from my neck
I feel the gleaming cross lying on my chest - the Christian Cross
A symbol which illustrates my Christian faith
the faith that drives me through life.
The cold metal brings warmth to my heart
Brings the feeling of love and happiness,
Makes myself think of how grateful I should be
Grateful for this magnificent world I live in,
this wondrous life I am living and those who live with me
For it delivers the sense of spiritual sanctuary
and enlightens my mind about the ideas of love and sacrifice.
My silver cross is blessed with love
Love for my family and love for God.
It is the possession which means the most dearest to me
and will continue to do so until I lay rested.
