The silver watch
When I was five my dad gave me a watch
Thus it was not an ordinary watch
With silver diamonds on the edge
It held the name, the silver watch
I never took it off
But then, after two years
A storm raged in it
It pulled the curtains
It tugged at the trees
Day and night, the storm took place
Our house was in extreme danger
I knew I had to save us all
With great difficulty I ran into the kitchen
Took my watch off and held it high
Suddenly the wind cut off, the rain subdued
All was calm
I saved us all, yet something was not right
I never wore that watch again
Because it was too precious
To me
