The Southern Snapping Turtle

Snapping, snapping,

Living up to its name,

Predators eating her family,

No sense of shame,

Scooping her eggs up with all her might,

Sun rushing into the nest,

Shining bright.

Snapping, snapping,

With bolts of fear rushing into her head,

The turtle won’t give up to her children,

Instead,

She digs deeper to find a place to hide,

But the predator sure does know how to put up a fight.

Snapping, snapping,

Her babies are gone,

Taken by peril and danger. 

Snapping, snapping,

Look at these turtles in such a horrid state,

Snapping, snapping,

Save the snapping turtles before it is too late.
