Tree Thieves

Trees, what amazing creatures, 

they let us breathe, 

starting as a seedling covered in dirt 

then starting to weave, 

leaves develop

they start growing rapidly. 

Then once they're a sapling,  

they slow down happily.

They grow mature

and let go of their leaves, 

some trees get hurt, 

and aren't able to breathe.

These gracious sources of life 

get chopped down too early.

These thieves steal all the trees

but it's not just a tree.

It's a living creature, 

it has a soul,

it has feelings.

It's a living being.
