Unseen heroes

In the gardens’s grand display, they stand,
Overlooked, feeling insignificant and bland.
Children pluck blossoms with joyous laughter,
While the unassuming weeds are left to wither.
Seasons shift, leaves change their style,
Creatures start their migration mile,
Yet the humble weeds stay strong and wild,
Craving recognition, their story compiled.
They’re not just pests, causing a mess,
In nature’s plan, they too impress.
Their hearts shatter as they see their end.
The gardener’s deadly spray, a certain dead-end.
With their last breaths, they say goodbye,
Yet the poison fails to comply.
Deep into the Earth, their roots hold fast,
In their secret sanctuary, their spirit will last.
If we look closely and truly discern,
We’ll see they're survivors, a title well earned.
