Waiting

Happiness fills my empty body
As my fingers scramble along the ancient rusty metal
Warmth floods over me like a river
As the loving eyes fill my heart with an unknown sweetness
Curiosity devours me like hungry piranhas
As my light feet dance along the quiet street
That's where they once were
That's where they are
Where they always will be
Frozen in
time
Cemented
around a neck
They sit
there
Waiting
Staring into the depths of my hidden soul
But nothing ever comes
