Waves by the beach

Crashing smashing whipping waves

the waves glisten like sparkling gems

the sands golden like the sun 

kids yelling, calling in joy

smashing bogging boards

kids diving under the waves 

they're learning to surf 

splashing in joy 

kids digging in golden sand 

trying to dig to the centre of earth 

the salty air burns their eyes 

wiping them on a nice white shirt 

the wind whistling in sandy dunes 

parents watch kids splash in the waves

crashing smashing whipping waves

end the day with one more yell
