Our land goes on forever

Our bodies disappear up into the deep blue sky

Our branches reach out and hug one another

Our leaves provide shelter for the animals below

Our bodies dance in the wind, losing leaves as we go

Our bark is rough, our leaves are soft

Our roots grip the ground, twisting and turning underneath

Our lives give air to all

Our sap provides food

You take me for granted

You use my skin for paper

You use my body for houses

You use my hair for fire

You use me for your air

You leave me with nothing but sorrow

You leave me nothing but destruction

You take down 15 billion of my brothers, sisters

You take down my family

I am not here just for you

But you use me like I am
