What once was a forest, is now a house

What once was a tree, is now a book

What once was a home, is now a stump

No longer useful.

What once was a forest, is now a playground

What once was a tree, is now a plank

What once was a safe haven filled with love

Waits to grow back.

What once was a forest, is now farm land

No longer free

What once was a tree, is now a pencil

Sharpened to no end

What once was a life form, is now dead

Used for other purposes

What could have been a green world forever

Is turning black.

A great world we have

A world that needs protecting from blades

A world we need forever

What once was a forest, is now gone.
