Tears fell down my sheepish face
Rain came down and the waters raged
But none as hard as the tears on my face
Glistening in the hidden box
Wrapped in layers of dust and time
Surrounded by an army of childish words and rhyme
Deep within a cave of dreams shimmering in the night
Enclosing a pirate's tooth
Party paint masking a hopeful gaze
The white fighting the velvet blue
Someone walks the plank
Staring into the life-giving eyes, they smiled at me
In my hands, I held a box
In my mind, I held doubts
In my eyes, I held an ocean
The silver holding carvings of toys and names
In my heart held the love and memories
