In twilight’s hush, where shadows play,
A creature lingers, fading away.
Its home once thrived, a vibrant scene,
Now whispers of loss where it once had been.

Soft ripples dance on the river’s edge,
Where wildflowers bloom, a fragile pledge.
Once a chorus, now a sigh,
The last of its kind beneath the sky.

Beneath the stars, its calls were strong,
Now silence lingers, the night feels wrong.
In tangled reeds, it seeks to hide,
A specter of hope, where dreams reside.

Yet change encroaches, with heavy hand,
Cutting through beauty, altering the land.
Oh, let us guard these remnants dear,
For every heartbeat, we must hold near.

In saving the few, we save the whole,
Each life a thread in the tapestry’s roll.
So whisper a prayer for those we’ve lost,
And heal the earth, whatever the cost.
