Whispers Through the Seasons

I stand silently as the seasons change,
From the harsh summer sun, to the snowing winter, to my autumn colours, to our wide spring range.
I watch as time slowly slips away,
From the generations of many critters in branches, as they all seem to slowly fade to grey.
I pray that they may learn to live,
In a way that is based on respecting what I give,
I whisper on the wind, strategies that may save these lives from decay,
But without anyone listening I fear these problems are here to stay.
I’ve waited for centuries for people to change their ways,
I’ve stood silently as the seasons have changed,
I’ve watched as time has slowly slipped away,
I’ve prayed that they may learn to live,
I’ve whispered on the wind, strategies that may save these lives from decay,
If only I was able to walk the earth,
Then maybe I could show them how much a change in one person was worth.
