Windswept spider-orchid

I see the glint of dew on your petal
I remember it will be replaced by metal
The buildings are coming
Their metal machines drumming
Proclaiming their arrival
We all wait in denial
I savour your colour
Your purple lustre,
Your spidery leg-like petals
Have got me going mental
Stale city air will replace gentle winds
Breaking my binds to Country
I will not give in
I shall prevent this sin.
