You're a killer

You swear it’s not a crime but you kill,
Centuries of life taken away within seconds,
But surprisingly the thought doesn't seem to make you ill.
How cruel and naive are we as humans to take away life from something that helps us survive,
It only takes a few seconds, a few seconds from them to drop dead one by one,
And soon all the damage is done,
What is there left to thrive?
Now the withering, empty land screams for help with no voice.
Not only did you kill the trees you also killed the creatures
The fauna that called the trees their home,
Their hoe which they once owned,
Now they stand alone and stare at the bare land that goes on for metres,
They stand and they cry,
Cry for the homes they’ve lost, the family they’ve lost,
Now they’re lost, nowhere to go, no one to go to,
They scream for help with no voice.
You swear it’s not a crime but you kill.
